BenQ down but not out in MP3 market

We found last month’s rumors about BenQ quitting the MP3 market to be pretty plausible. After all, the company hasn’t exactly dominated the market, and with players like Olympus and Rio either giving up or folding up shop, it looks like the long-awaited market shakeout is starting. But BenQ seems prepared to give it another shot, since the company has just announced two new models, the shuffle-esque Joybee P205 and video-capable Joybee P330. No info on pricing or launch dates, so it’s always possible that earlier rumors will prove true and these will go the way of the Rio Carbon C, though we suspect that BenQ will at least pump these out in its home market of Taiwan, even if they don’t show up anywhere else.
